Hurricane-Impact Pivot Doors — Florida-Approved Custom Mahogany

Portasui hurricane-impact pivot doors are engineered for the toughest coastal environments. Each door uses a single-point pivot mechanism, reinforced solid Honduran mahogany slab construction (with marine-grade plywood core in qualifying assemblies), and a custom multi-point locking system. Pivot panels in this catalog can exceed 500 lbs, and every one is built to the structural and architectural specifications of the project — sized, finished, and detailed individually rather than pulled from a stock line. Every model in this category is approved for use in the Florida High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) under Florida Product Approval FL#28370.

Certifications & testing. Florida Product Approval FL#28370 (I-Pivot Outswing Wood Door Series). Tested per the Miami-Dade TAS protocols — TAS 201 (Large Missile Impact), TAS 202 (Uniform Static Air Pressure), TAS 203 (Cyclic Wind Pressure Loading). Design Pressure rating: +65/-65 PSF. Force entry: AAMA 1304 (single door). HVHZ approved: Yes. Impact Resistant: Yes. Engineer of Record: Pedro M. De Figueiredo, Florida PE #52609. Full documentation and PDF downloads ›

Sizes & customization. Maximum frame size per FL#28370 is 81″ × 147¾″ (frame width × frame height), with maximum door opening of 50″. Custom finishes available in any stain or paint color.
